We offer three apartments in the same building in the heart of the city center for short term rentals.
Building is over 100 years old, but it was completely rebuilt in 2016, respecting cultural heritage requirements for external outlook. Apartments are modern and spacious, two of them also feature big terrace facing discretely concealed backyard. They are, of course, tastefully equipped with functional furniture and kitchen appliances.
Main entrance door as well as doors to apartments are electrically locked, so you don't have to deal with mechanical keys. All you need is PIN code, which we provide upon check-in.
Design style and names of our apartments are inspired by many legends interwoven into city walls and stones. Argo, for one, was the name of great ship salvaging it's heroic crew, Jason and the Argonauts, after taking possession of precious golden fleece. Allegedly, fleeing from Greece the Argonauts sailed up the rivers and ended up in Ljubljana, where they spent the winter and then continued with their adventure.
Dragon is symbol of Ljubljana. You will find hints of dragon
shape almost everywhere, most remarkable are monumental bronze dragons on each corner of Dragon
Bridge.
There are various legends about it. It is said that the dragon that was living in Ljubljana's
swamp
prevented the establishment of the city and only Jason and his Argonauts were brave enough to
kill him and liberate people of Ljubljana from his terror. However, during the middle ages the dragon
gradually
became protector of the city, representing courage, wisdom and power. Read more, it is interesting!
Waterman is a mythic creature living in Ljubljanica river. Again, there are different legends. In some he is kind and helping and in others dangerous and evil. One of the most famous representation of this interesting creature is in poem of great slovenian poet France Prešeren, where he takes a presumptuous but beautiful girl to his lairs.
Emona, predecessor of Ljubljana, was built on the site of Roman military stronghold in AD 14. Settelment, fortified with strong walls, was important strategic crossroad in ancient Roman empire and it was bubbling with life until first half of 6th century when city was left by its last resident. Grounds underneath our very own building and surrounding area are full of artefacts from this period and just a short walk from our apartments you can still see Emona’s southern wall.
